SPRINGWATER OFFSET AREA: BASELINE ECOLOGICAL MONITORING AND ASSESSMENT

Terrestria undertook the baseline monitoring program for the Springwater Offset Area to satisfy requirements within the Santos GLNG Gas Fields Development Project Stage 1 Offset Plan 2016 – 2021. The project involved:

  • Establishing BioCondition;

  • Threatened flora survey

  • Flora and fauna species inventory

  • Trapping program targeting threatened fauna including 10 camera traps.

Development of Santos GLNG’s guidelines and Procedures for Ecological assessments within the GLNG Bowen and Surat basins, in central and southern Queensland.

Terrestria developed detailed guidelines and step-by-step procedures for defining Environmentally Sensitive Areas (ESA) and Threatened Ecological Communities (TEC), including benchmarks for defining ‘functioning’ endangered regional ecosystem and developing an appropriate assessment procedure.
